When people talk about Hunter Schafer, the word multitalented comes to mind. As a star of the show Euphoria, Schafer has become one of the most notable figures of this generation, being an LGBTQIA+ activist and using her voice to advocate for trans rights and equality. She's had a remarkable impact in the fashion industry, modeling for many luxury labels, such as Mugler, Miu Miu, and Marc Jacobs. Whether she graces the red carpet or is spotted on the streets, she attracts attention with her confidence, spirited self-expression, and grace. And, while promoting her new movie; The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Schafer has proved that beyond doubt, she is a significant figure in the fashion world.

For that tour, Schafer was styled by Dara Allen, a model and the fashion director of Interview Magazine. The epic duo presented a vast understanding of the industry, full of deep references to the original Hunger Games films and the history of fashion. As a newly formed fashion pair, who first worked together in February 2021 for Vanity Fair, the duo built a fashion fantasy throughout the tour, using every appearance as an opportunity to tell a story. As Allen explained to Vogue, she wanted to "...play with the creativity and ingenuity of... Tigris", Schafer's character, who in the original films is a prestigious Capitol designer. As a trans woman dressing another trans woman, Allen understands the importance of clothing in personal expression. She awakened Schafer's inner Effie Trinket, perfectly capturing the essence of Capitol fashion while incorporating the actress' style signatures. Want a complete scoop of all the looks the star wore to promote her new project? Well, read on.

As the popular saying goes, "last but not least," in the world of celebrity press tours, stars often save their striking looks for the big finale. Schafer’s premise, however, is that in the realm of fashion; you must start with a bang. And in terms of elevating your looks to a distinguishable opulence, it must be in Schiaparelli. Wearing the painterly mosaic-patterned Schiaparelli gown from fall/winter 2023, the actress stepped out at the film's Berlin premiere with an excessive look that perfectly matched the movie's theatrical and performative style. It had that type of excess one can only see at the Capitol. Vibrant colors walk past the streets. Textures speak for themselves. Drama fills the air.

Toning down the impressive for a daytime look, Schafer attended the Berlin press conference in a beige flowery Dries Van Noten fall/winter 2023 set that was subtle, but still unexpected. Whether for its transparent beige fabric, top floral pattern, or textured shimmery skirt. One might say that maybe she was honoring the landscapes from the other twelve districts – after all, Schafer’s character, Tigris, is an empathic defender of equal rights and treatment– or perhaps she was saving the sublime and exaggerated opulence for elsewhere.

Freeing all that luxe in another atmosphere, Schafer appeared at the London world premiere in a custom fluid golden two-piece Prada look. As a direct reference to the movie’s color palette - reflecting both with the Capitol's opulence and the iconic gold Mockingjay posters that every film in the franchise has used - the long liquid skirt matched its tight waist and high split with a matching halter top adorned with puffy sleeves and a black bow.

While few things can match the exuberance of a custom Prada liquid golden dress, Maison Margiela is an expert at giving lessons in extravagance. For the London premiere, Schafer wore a voluminous lime dress coat adorned with a small ribbon with a matching-in-tone newspaper boat hat, resulting in an eccentric, timeless, and daring look that could have come straight from the movie’s costumes.

In the spirit of being risqué, the Los Angeles premiere was the perfect occasion for the actress to show some edginess amidst the typical Hollywood black-tie attire. Schafer arrived on the red carpet wearing the pre-fall 2023 Alexander McQueen slashed tulle dress with crystal embroidery featuring multiple side cutouts. To complement her look, Allen accessorized the star with chandelier bracelets, which only enhanced the lavish appeal from the film.

After the event's successes, in both cinematic and sartorial terms, there was a proper celebration. At the Los Angeles Premiere afterparty, Schafer's victory look was a fresh red rose patterned dress with a waved neckline from Alberta Ferretti RTW fall/winter 2023. Could that maybe be a reference to the popular white roses from President Snow? In the world of fashion, we can never tell. No matter the inspiration, the sensual gown was definitely the perfect choice for a soirée!

Goodbye party mood, welcome back to business mode! Although some may say that after the rain comes the rainbow, in Hollywood, things can be slightly different. Next, Schafer attended the Los Angeles press conference, at which color surprisingly seemed to have fallen out of style. However, that did not equate to a lack of bravado or imagination. Allen styled Schafer in a tight white shirt with loose black pants embellished with silver beads from Tory Burch Resort 2024. The consensus was that the star of the look was the shimmery particles in the trousers that reflected the futuristic tone of the film.

Schafer's appearance at the New York City screening was a tribute to The Hunger Games and fashion aficionados. At the premiere, she wore a floral appliqué mini dress from Marni spring 2024, which was a direct reference to the Alexander McQueen butterfly dress from Sarah Burton's spring 2011 collection; famously worn by Elizabeth Banks's Effie Trinket in the original film series. Surreal and bizarre, Allen managed to honor the film's distinctive stylistic background, while also including classic elements of Schafer's own style, such as florals and soft colors.

After making us wait a while for any fashion or style news from the dazzling pair, Allen shared a glimpse on her Instagram stories of Schafer for Good Morning America, wearing an Issey Miyake striped green and white dress with a voluminously spinning skirt. Next, for Kelly Clarkson's show, Allen dressed Schafer in a blue and white matching set by Thom Browne, creating a trompe l’oeil effect that captivated the audience visually and fashionably. Art and fashion merged to create an enchanting sight.

More formal duties followed. For a press conference in New York, Schafer elegantly donned a Carolina Herrera monochromatic black suit with a silver flower brooch. Sticking to the floral theme, at The Tonight Show, Schafer appeared in a Balmain Spring Summer 2024 floral patterned structured bustier with matching shorts, honoring vintage silhouettes and the label’s craftsmanship. Since Tigris is a Snow, what better way to pay homage to her cousin's unique roses than by giving them a little color, a different species, and a whole new tone? In this way, Schafer and Allen manage to turn the symbol into something truly from Tigris now.

To end the night with a flourish, spotted out on the streets of New York, Schafer wore a lime fur coat from Alexandre Vauthier's SS23 couture collection, which read sweet instead of sour. A photo snapped by the paparazzi was enough to start speculations among fashionistas over what the ideal fashion duo's next steps will be, but Vestisse can give you the answer. The next look? We already know it will be a success like no other.
